Friends come to town

This past weekend my friend Lauren came into town with her son Landon and he and Miles had a blast playing together. Both are mobile so it was a handful keeping up with both of them. Landon is REALLY close to walking and that is SO scary for me.

The last few days have been pretty lazy. We have been preparing for our friends Lauren and baby Landon to come in town, so while mommy cleaned, Miles played. Sounds like a nice day, huh?

Playing with our remote. Thankfully we have MANY and we were able to remove the batteries. Not sure how they know, but they know when something isn't the real thing.

Miles enjoyed his first Thanksgiving and I believe he enjoyed the food too. Afterwards he crashed in Meme's lap and wasn't afraid to show some skin.

Friday we took Miles to see Santa and it was SO much fun! We went to Phipps Plaza because that is where I always went when I was a kid. Miles thought Santa was great! At first he was just sitting there staring at the cameraman, but when Santa started speaking, he quickly turned his head and didn't take his eyes off of him till it was time to leave. We got a picture as well as a dvd of him and Santa. I am especially excited about the dvd. My mom still has all of my VHS's (yes, I said VHS) with Santa and I think that is a pretty special thing to have.

This past Thursday we went to an awesome park in Sandy Springs and I am not sure who enjoyed it more, Me or Miles. They had this astroturf type of grass which was great for Miles to explore in. He didn't quite know what to do with it, but he loved it once he warmed up to it.

9 months old!

Today Miles is 9 months old and it seems so crazy to me. Where in the world have the last 9 months gone? I mean seriously...it is hard to believe that in 3 months he will be a year old. I know I say that every month, but my goodness...time is just passing by so quickly. Here is a list of things that Miles is doing these days.

- Army crawling - He gets up and rocks on his hands and knees, but hasn't mastered it.

- Pulling up on things

- Going from his belly to sitting

- Doing the wheel barrel crawl- Pretty hysterical

- Saying "dada" and "mama"

- Walks while holding onto your hands

- Feeds himself his puffs and any other finger foods

- Laughs at himself in the mirror

- Holds his arms out for you when he wants you

- He LOVES our dog, Laila and he laughs at her all the time

Family Time!

This past Saturday was my 2nd cousin America's 1st birthday. All I can say is "wow!" It is crazy to see this little bitty girl walking around and eating cake and hot dogs. She is only 3 months older than Miles, but it seems like she is so much older. We had a great time and enjoyed spending time with our family. While we were there, Miles got to sit with his great grandfather Grumps and he loved every minute of it. Miles is a lot like his mommy and LOVES his Grumpsy.

Halloween

Well for Halloween we were in Savannah and didn't get to go trick or treating, but the weekend before, we were able to attend a Halloween party. It was a ton of fun and I am so happy we were able to all dress up. I was Big Bird, Ty was a penguin, and Miles was a duck.

A month later...

For my birthday (yes, almost a month ago) Ty surprised me with a girls luncheon at Nori Nori. The four of us had such a great time and I am not sure we knew what to do with ourselves since our babies weren't with us. After some delicious sushi, Ty showed up with some AWESOME cupcakes and Miles. Thanks Ty for such a great birthday lunch! Also, thank you Kelly for putting together this photo collage and sharing it with me.

Catching up

Here is a sneak peek at one of Miles' pictures from his photo shoot with Jenny Chesnut. I can't wait to have them to show to everyone, but until then, this will have to do! Jenny was AMAZING and I am SO thankful for the beautiful memories she captured of my precious baby boy.

A few weeks back (has it really been that long? and am I really that behind on uploading pictures?) we took the babies up to a local pumpkin patch. Needless to say, it didn't go super smoothly. Most of the babies were ready for a nap and just weren't enjoying the outing.

This past Saturday we went to dinner at Figo and while we were there we decided to give Miles his first taste of "real food." Anyone who knows me knows that I am paranoid about giving Miles table food and I am so scared of him choking. I tried to stay calm ( I did pretty good! ) and in the end Miles was happy and we were happy that we got to enjoy a full dinner...without interruption.

My Birthday

This past Saturday was my birthday. I can't believe it. It seems just like yesterday that it was last years birthday and I was pregnant with Miles. Anyways, Ty surprised me with a lunch date with 3 of my girlfriends and we had a great time. The rest of the day we just spent at home hanging out. I am sure I will have pictures up soon of our lunch date, but until then, here are a few of my little family.

Isn't it just adorable?!? I saw this hat a few weeks ago and I didn't buy it (it was a little pricey!), but I went back and they had it marked down. YAY! Needless to say, I am a little obsessed with it. I can't wait for it to actually get cold enough to wear it all the time.

Here are a few pictures from Playgroup ( a few weeks back) and some of Miles just hanging out. I have not neglected to take photos, I just have neglected to upload them to the computer. : ) Miles did get his second tooth this week. Whew! Glad that is over for now. Only 2o something more! Also, I am glad to report that he is sleeping great these day. When he got his ear infection it really messed up his sleeping habits but he is back to not waking up at all through out the night, which is a welcomed change. Tomorrow we go for Miles first ever professional photo shoot and I am SO excited. Hopefully I will have those pictures pretty soon! Oh, can you believe Miles will be 8 MONTHS OLD on Monday? Crazy!

Family Tradition

This past Friday Miles and I went to see my grandparents. While we were there, we decided to take some pictures of Miles in an old tin tub that has become a tradition for all the great grandchildren. We really enjoyed doing it and it was nice to become part of a family tradition.

Thursdays play day

This past Thursday we had play day at Shari and Spencer's house. We always love play day because we get to see some of our friends and we get to just hang out. This day there were only 4 of us and they were all boys. This was one of the first times that they have actually sat with each other and PLAYED. It was too cute. I actually have a video that I am hoping to get uploaded by tonight or tomorrow morning, so check back!

Lately...

I have been a bad mom. I have neglected to take a lot of photos of Miles lately. I don't know why, just haven't. So instead of posting pictures, I decided it would be good to make a list of things that Miles is doing and using these days.

Where do I start??

-He is roughly 20lbs and 28 inches long. HEAVY boy!

-He is currently rolling all over the place.

-He LOVES to stand while being held.

-He goes from sitting to on his belly.

-He sits with no support... pretty much all the time.

-He has 1 1/2 teeth...the 1/2 is currently making its appearance.

-He is in size 3 or 4 diapers. The 4's are a little big, but work great for night time.

-He is in 9-12 month clothing.

-He sleeps from about 8-8:30 till around 7-8. He will usually cry a few times around 4 or 5, which means he wants his paci or is a little cold.

-He just started formula this week. He likes it OK. I give him Gerber Good Start Gentle Plus.

-He isn't showing a ton of crawling signs. He does bring his legs under him, but no movement. He might be like his momma and never crawl. : /

-He eats 4 (7-8oz) bottles a day and 3 "meals."

-He loves pretty much all his "meals" except green beans, spinach and chicken.

-His favorite toys are his green wired ball (unsure of name), his musical blocks and his groove and learn. He will pretty much play with anything that looks fun.

That is all I can think about right now. Hopefully I will have more pictures up soon. He has been a little more challenging to take care of since last week when his first tooth came through. We will make it through though.

Trip to Savannah

So last weekend we went down to Savannah to visit our good friends Travis aka "Crack" and his fiance Summer. As always, we had a great time and really enjoyed our visit. Miles was very photogenic the whole trip and I think it was mainly because he has a crush on auntie Summer. Every time she would walk by he would get the BIGGEST smile. It was pretty darn cute. Here are a few pictures from our trip.

This past weekend while we were in Savannah, Summer and I decided to take some pictures of Miles. I have yet to have professional pictures taken of him (bad, I know), but until then (we are having them done for his 8 month birthday!) here are a few that we did.
