CARROTS!!

Miles loves them!! I think I was kind of surprised that he liked them so much. I expected him to turn his nose up to them and only enjoy the sweeter foods....like his daddy. He is now SO excited to see the jar of carrots and all I can do is laugh. Also, he is now eating a jar a day. I have not educated myself really well yet, so I am not sure how much I can feed him right now. I hope to get a few books to explain everything and also a few to teach me how to make his food. Making baby food is something that I have always wanted to do. I know it is probably a bit of a hassle, but I think it is totally worth it. It won't be long till he will be eating chicken nuggets and fries and I figure the longer I can feed him really healthy food (meaning no preservatives and additives) the better!

Two boy just hanging out

Today Kelly and Carter came over to hang out and boy did we enjoy having them. The boys had a great time and they even managed to watch a little Baby Einstein together. I must say, it was pretty darn cute to see these two little baby boys kicked back and watching the tube.

Play group with good friends

So on Thursday we had our weekly Baby Brigade get together. It was at Krissy's house and we all had such a great time. Miles and I both LOVE Thursday play group. Miles loves it because he gets to see all his friends and he gets to flirt with all the pretty girls. I love it because I get to have adult conversations for a good 3-4 hours. It is so nice to be able to chat with friends and relate to them on all different levels. We are all first time moms and we are all learning as we go. Thank you Krissy and Nicholas for being such good hosts!!

The next few weeks...

This week and next week are my last two weeks before I go back to work. Granted, I am not going back full time and I am only going to be working two days a week, but I am really sad about it. I have not spent more than three or four hours away from Miles since he was born. Actually, if you think about it, I haven't been without him since he was conceived. That is over a year ago. I know most men have NO concept of what it means to carry a child. To feel it move inside of you and to know that I have to protect it
and keep it out of harms way. I am very protective of Miles. I never thought I would be the way that I am, but I am not ashamed to admit it. I am not sure if it is because of all the issues I had while I was pregnant with him and the fact that from 30 weeks on he could have been born at any moment and for 5, almost 6 weeks, I worked my rear end off trying to keep him in as long as possible. Or is it because I am a mother? I suppose it is a combination of both, but I feel like I have to protect him every second of his life. With all of that being said, it is going to be really difficult to leave him those two days. Yes, my mom will be watching him one day and I am not sure about the other day, but of course it is going to be someone that I trust. I know my mom raised me and I turned out just fine (some people may not think so :0 ), but it isn't ME with him. Thankfully, I have been blessed to be at home with him for a solid 6 months. That is AMAZING and I am truly thankful for that. Hopefully these next two weeks won't fly by and hopefully when I do go back, Miles has fun and doesn't have any issues with the fact that his mommy isn't with him all day.
As long as my son is happy, I am happy.

First time blogging

So today is my very first day of blogging...ever! I am not sure why I have never thought to do it, I guess I thought it would be too difficult or too time consuming. With that being said, my goal here is to try my hardest to document everything that I can that goes on with our son Miles and to make it available for our friends and family to view on a regular basis. I plan on back tracking to the day that Miles was born and eventually catching up to present day, but during that time I will be posting current events as well. So here goes nothing!!!

Today Miles and I had a great day. We began by attending story time at Barnes and Noble with our good friends from The Baby Brigade. After story time we decided to treat ourselves to lunch at Cheeky's and it was awesome! Miles and I also decided to go to Kelly and Carter's house for a little play date and the boys had a great time.
